Valentino Fango Nappa Petale Handbag

November 27, 2009

OK…now this is what happens when leather, trying to morph into a flower, goes wrong. Unlike the Miu Miu Nappa Petal bag, this Valentino Fango Nappa Petale handbag is sort of looks like you’ve fallen into a weird alternative universe of wilted flowers. The color is called clay, but the shade is quite dull if you ask me. I’m all for rosettes, but one giant rosette is a little too close for comfort. The bag is large, and makes a statement, but not a good one. It’s like the boring girl you knew who tried to overcompensate with an eccentric personality in order to seem interesting. Not the thing we want in a bag. The Valentino Fango Nappa Petale handbag retails for $257 at www.high-replica-handbags.com.

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN MODERNIZES CLASSIC MARY JANE PUMPS

November 26, 2009

I simply love Mary-Jane pumps since such style pulls a very feminine look on every lady even if it kind of looks something that’s fashionable back in the 20’s. Such kind of pump has also been a hit for some these days, and good thing is, designers know how to modernize the classic style.

Christian Louboutin is definitely one of those designers, and his latest design of which is the Christian Louboutin Corto 85 Patent Pumps. Coming in patent leather surely brings this classic pump to modernity, even if it is also in a classic black color.

It may not have any other designs, but the glossy shade and the silhouette of this pump is enough to make it interesting for modern use. There’s a button fastening on the ankle strap, and it also comes with a round toe.

Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Boots are Obviously Tough

We know that Christian Louboutin can really design shoes that range from those that exude feminine appeal to those that look tough. And with that, seeing these Christian Louboutin Ariella Clou silver studded boots is not anymore a surprise.

It is obviously another of his tough-looking creations, but perhaps these boots is probably the toughest of his toughest designs. Black and silver combination can either create elegance or tough look; and in this case, it shows them both. This boot is made from black leather, and silver-tone studs cover the boots all throughout.

This surely makes this boot tough, and this is definitely enough to grab attention. To make it look even tougher, this also has a square toe; a zipper fastening on back and a signature red sole.

Christian Louboutin Ariella studded boots would look great with your skinny jeans and leather blazer so as to finish off a tough yet chic facade.

Shoes of the 2009 AMA’s

November 24, 2009

I am not much of a celebrity watcher. But, as might be expected, I am a shoe-watcher. So, despite my general cluelessness on who’s who these days in Hollywood, I love looking at the fashion photos of red-carpet events like yesterday’s AMA’s.

By the way, it drives me nuts that you can get fashion coverage of what folks wore, but they almost never mention the shoes as a part of this!!!

Am I the only person driven bonkers by this oversight?

Now I am left trying to wrack my brain in an attempt to remember who makes which shoe, etc. It’s enough to give a girl a migraine.

So, a quick rundown of some of the shoes seen on the AMA red carpet along with who makes them…in cases where my memory is actually serving me today.

Christian Louboutin’s red-soled shoes are red-hot

November 20, 2009

When asked what she wanted for Christmas, High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale didn’t hesitate: “Christian Louboutin heels.”

Hollywood’s leading ladies can’t seem to get enough of the red-soled shoes that are a fixture on red carpets and at fashion photo shoots. And increasingly, Louboutin’s designs are popular among everyday women who are willing to spend $500-$1,500 a pair.

Though many people can’t pronounce his name (Lu-bu-TAHn), his signature red sole is instantly recognizable.

“I definitely think Christian louboutin is, for lack of a better word, the hottest shoe designer that there is out there,” says Filipa Fino, senior accessories editor at Vogue magazine. “He has captivated not only the socialite market but also Hollywood, and it is really the ‘it’ shoe to own right now.”

The red sole “has given him an edge, because it’s a visible touch that brands him. Women tend to feel others notice, and it’s a way of saying you’ve got the shoe.”

Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted in a pair on the set of the Sex and the City movie, a pair showed up in an episode of Dirty Sexy Money, and BMW featured the shoe in a commercial.

In October, Oprah Winfrey revealed a very pricey thank-you gift from Jessica Seinfeld, who had been on the show pitching her cookbook. The gift? Twenty-one pairs of shoes, many of which media outlets identified as Louboutins.

“It’s always a surprise for me when I see my shoes on someone or in a picture. I feel great about that,” says Louboutin, 44, whose first boutique opened 15 years ago in Paris. “I’ve always loved shoes and always wanted to do shoes.”

His collections now include espadrilles, sandals, boots, pumps and evening shoes in heels ranging from flat to skyscraper high. A handbag line (priced $700 and up) was launched this year.

“I’m inspired by many things,” he says. “And I love women, love watching women try on my shoes.”

But not so much that he’d give them away. Louboutin doesn’t play favorites. Unlike designers who send stars courtesy pieces to wear, Louboutin makes everyone pay.

“If things are given for free to you, it has no value in it, and you don’t really worship it.”

So when you see red soles on Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve, Cameron Diaz, Ashley Olsen, Gwyneth Paltrow or Angelina Jolie, you know they’re not freebies.

“He has so much passion and so much heart,” says Olsen, who refers to Louboutin as a best friend. “He’s so talented and has really done it by himself and learned the hard way.”

Like other luxury brands, Louboutin’s trademark red sole has inspired imitations.

“It’s in the hand of lawyers now,” he says. “It’s one thing to be inspired by people, but just to knock off people is not nice.”

Louboutin began painting the soles red because “it is the color of love. It’s the color of passion. Even if a woman is wearing all black, she might choose a red lip or red nails.”

And what could possibly be more festive this time of year?

Anna Kournikova and Louis Vuitton

Anna Kournikova carries fake Louis Vuitton handbags! Can this be true? Someone sent me this picture of Anna Kournikova a few days ago asking me to do an authenticity check. I am not an expert, however I try to give a short answer as to whether or not in my opinion it is fake or authentic, then follow that with my reasoning and a link to how to determine authenticity for a Louis Vuitton. This bag that Anna Kournikova is carrying is an obvious fake Louis Vuitton.

Reasons for why this bag is an awful fake:
- A real multicolor Louis Vuitton bag has 33 colors. This bag has 5.
- There are red LV’s on her bag. Red LV’s are not on the real white speedy.
- The inside lining is the wrong color. The lining of a real speedy is a rasberry color. This bag has a beige lining.
- The handles are too long and thin. A real LV speedy’s handles are shorter and thicker than that.
- The flower on the above right of the LV is the same color as the LV, this never happens on a real bag.

*Important note: Don’t always look at celebrities and their handbags to try to compare and determine authenticity. Yes I know you would think that they have a lot of money and they can afford the real thing. However this is an example of how celebrities don’t always carry authentic handbags. Also something else I should point out will occasionally put up a picture of a fake bag to trick counterfeiters who try to duplicate those seen online. You may have noticed that the photo of this Louis Vuitton Speedy has red LV’s, but the real on does not.

Celebrities and their Handbags

I should just call today Jessica Simpson Louis Vuitton overload. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Jessica Simpson, but I am an enormous fan of her handbag collections, particularly all her Louis Vuitton’s.

Jessica Simpson – All I have to say is poor Nick for having to put up with Jessica and her dad. I laughed when I heard that when they got engaged Nick wanted a prenuptial but Jessica’s father convinced her not to sign. I bet she’s feeling pretty dumb now that she has to pay up. (As most of you know when they got married Nick was the one with all the money from his boy band years in the group 98 degrees, then Jessica’s career took off during the marriage.) Speaking of dumb, I thought that was pretty pathetic when she came out and said she ‘isn’t really as dumb as everyone thinks’, but she was told to act dumb by the ‘Newlywed’ producers. If true. . then what a puppet. Sorry for all you Jessica Simpson fans. On a nicer note, check out these lovely Louis Vuitton handbags !

Louis Vuitton launch Damier Neverfull at Selfridges

November 19, 2009

Selfridges is celebrating it’s 100th anniversary and Louis Vuitton is giving them an exclusive launch of their new bag Louis Vuitton Damier Neverfull. The tote comes in Damier canvas and will be available at Selfridges Oxford Street and Manchester for 6 weeks before Louis Vutton starts selling them in their own boutiques. The bag will come in three different sizes: small, medium and large on which you can adjust the straps. The Damier canvas was originally launched in 1988 but was re-launched in 1996 . This is a classic piece that will last you for a very long time. Personally I prefer the Damier because it’s more discreet compared to the original LV monogram, even if it’s the LV monogram that the tote was launched in the first place.

Gucci Jackie Raffia Shoulder Bag

Just when temperatures begin their nosedive to frigidity in most areas of the northern hemisphere, we get a nice, fat reminder that none of us are going anywhere interesting for vacation this holiday season: Resort collections. And when I say that “none of us” are, I mean that I’m not. It’s sort of like the “royal we,” but with no people. It’s the “royal none of us.”

But for all those people that are taking the chillier weather as a sign to get the heck out of Dodge and down to the St. Barts, designers see fit to give you your very own between-collections collection of clothes and accessories that are appropriate for warm weather. These are often my favorite things of the year – it’s warm in my neck of the woods for such a huge proportion of time that I get a lot more use out of things suited for high temperatures than low ones. Still, seeing something like the Gucci Jackie Raffia Shoulder Bag at this time of year is more than a bit startling.

Christian Louboutin Bouquet Platform Combines Interesting Gloominess with Fashion

Set some gloomy yet interesting look as you wear this Bouquet Platform from Christian Louboutin. It is actually not that gloomy though the design kind of suggests that appeal but in a fashionable way. This also shows sophistication that could probably work all year round.

We know that florals are very popular for the spring and summer, right? And any dark or block-colored fashion wear falls to the fall and winter trend. With that, it is pretty obvious that this sandal is wearable for every season since those trends are visibly present on this shoe. This is actually made of pink satin though it looks more like of a natural canvas, designed with black floral laces all over. Those black florals indeed make this gloomy though it sure looks very interesting and would probably even complete a statement monochrome outfit.

This Louboutin pump comes with a peep-toe, so keeping your toe nails polished would keep you polished as well. The platform and the heel are also covered with floral detailing, with the heel measuring about 4¾ inches. Obviously, it has the signature red sole, which kind of complemented, by chance, with the whole design of the sandal.

This Christian Louboutin Bouquet Platform retails for $995, which is actually just enough since it would look great on whatever ensemble you wish to wear for any seasons. It could make your dull office attire fabulous whether with trousers or pencil skirts; it could as well punctuate your casual outfit such as with denims or simple dresses; and it could also make your evening look more feminine with your fabulous evening dresses.

November 18, 2009

Kate Walsh arrives at the Ed Sullivan Theater for the Late Show With David Letterman and changes into a stunning blue dress and Christian Louboutin heels in New York City on Wednesday (November 11).

The humble 42-year-old Private Practice talked a little bit about her blue Marchesa dress on the show.

“I look like I came from the future to serve cocktails on a plane,” Kate joked with Dave.

The actress also shared about what life was like before her acting career took off.

“I had nothing,” Kate shared. “I was so broke I had 3 dollars – it was either a subway token home or a beer.”

Gucci Joy Boston Bag

I haven’t had the urge of buying a Gucci handbag for a hot min already, after seeing these Gucci Joy Boston Bags (if its sold out on the official site, cop it from Saks.com) I’m tempted. I am thinking about treating myself to a medium one, the price is pretty decent considering all the other bags out there are over $1200. Still debating on what color to choose, any suggestions? Hmm…I’m thinking either yellow or orange since I already have a Louis Vuitton Perforated Speedy 30 in green, but the green is nice too haha? Decisionsssssss, I need to act quick before the pre-order is done! Let me know what you guys think?

New Handbags For 2009

So bust out all your earth tone handbags, looks like this season a lot of the designers are bringing that bag. More handbags for us ladies, at first look this new Louis Vuitton Embossed Monogram handbagreminds me of the Marc Jacobs Stam, quilted, chain strap and 2 leather handles. Take a closer look and you can see the camouflage LV monograms, the chain is made of ivory and the leather is sheepskin. This bag will probably be a hot sell, I kinda like it, nice and mellow…great color match. All the bags in this post have earth tone to it, great color so it can be easily matched with any outfit. The new Dior My Dior Double Pocket bag, at first glance I thought it was the Fendi B Bag hahaha (below post), see for yourself, had to double-take on that one.

Olivia Palermo, The Intellectual Charm Of Mature Woman

November 12, 2009

Few people can wear in sand color but do not look old. And Olivia Palermo is one of the few and apparently she has done it well, she even hasn’t untied her hair to look young. She looks so beautiful and young and full of intellectual charm.

If your skin tone is white then sand color won’t make you look grayish. Besides, this stripes dress is not in pure color, and the crystal necklace also helps. The broad golden belt is knitwear, and the texture of which is similar to the pattern of the dress. The Chloe bag and Christian Louboutin ankle boots also are sand grey, so the overall color and texture are in consistence. Olivia is hot in VOGUE Fashion Street shot, in a word, her style focus on keeping things in harmony and using contrast as adornment so she looks comfortable. This time the adornment is her red fingernails and the red shoe sole of her Christian Louboutin boots. She looks so confident. The only flaw is that the boots seem to be a bit too long, although they don’t make her calves look short but her feet seem big. Change into a pair of ankle boots will be better.

Black Christian Louboutin boots

Victoria Beckham was spotted shopping yesterday in LA with her son Cruz. Victoria has spoken out about her preparation for the role. she said, “I started running regularly about a year ago and when this campaign came about, I began working harder every day.” she might be planning on running the NY marathon. However, these black Christian Louboutin boots are certainly not made for running! Victoria teamed the ankle boots with a green shift dress and a black hobo handbag.
